I feel like the word favorite is a bit overused in mine and my pier's 1st projects, specifically the video project.
Today, we got a new assignment, the first project. We were assigned to make a video project about ourselves. I did the 10 good ideas and decided to go with number 10, my favorite car(s). I also did the planning questions. I did not have enough time to start the project though.
On day 2, I grabbed my iPad to start my search for the copyright-free car photos, (If it were up to me I would use regular, possibly copyright photos and credit them but it's okay). I did most of the project's images and titles, I need to add the starting screen that I made myself... that I still have to make.
On Day 3, I scratched the drawing something by myself because I am not good at drawing. I added a somber, yet clear message about climate change and electric cars at the end. Added some comedy, professionality, and sound effects and went to start on my voiceover. Over these days I figured out I could use stock photos for the days, and I challenged myself to use a different photo style each day. I finished the voiceover and uploaded the movie to the drive, although I didn't have enough time to add it to the website or double-check its perfect.
I finished what I thought was the last bit of my project, then I was told it was due Thursday, giving me a lot more time. That is today, the project is due in 4 days. I added some music to the sombre ending, Mice On Venis by C418. I added some more cars, I am almost out of ideas, and I need more stuff.
I needed to check the rules of copyright for the song I added, then for quite literally no reason, my project got deleted. I came in today and found it was gone, meaning I had to redo the whole project. Nothing else much happened besides adding some vague ideas before the bell rang.
Today, I scraped the 2nd project and decided to do a project on what has happened over the past year. I found an old animation to add to the video and remembered about the time I rode in a Mustang. Then I did a couple of takes of a voiceover that was required in my project. I'm okay with how it turned out, so tomorrow, if nothing goes wrong, I want to upload the video and do the reflection.
Above is the final video project, I promise, it can't be any worse. I started my reflection and remembered the Unique Quality part of my planning questions, I wanted to use my artwork in the project. The animation in the video was my own artwork, so I sort of did my goal. I did my reflection, and some tweaks, and turned in the project.
Using iMovie, Google, and an iPad, I created a video project about the events that happened between now and last year's winter break because 1, it was required to do a video project at the start of the semester, and 2 because to stand out, I wanted to not make some joke project about the past year, or something like "This is why I love art!", I wanted to put actual work and effort into a project about my past year so I can improve from my mistakes last year when i did this class.
During this process, I learned about the rules of copyright, specifically music because my first version of the project used a possibly copyrightable music piece. even though I scraped the project, I know what to do next time if I want to do something like that again.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I avoided copyright strike with both music and images, using copyright-free images and music, along with learning how to use someone's copyrightable music and give credit to them to avoid copyright.
A challenge I overcame on this project was adding two titles to a panel. I was able to do it by taking the picture, putting the first title on it, then exporting it, adding it to a new project, and adding the title over the exported video, You have your clip of two titles and then you can add it to your project, I did not end up using this technique in the final project.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the starting picture. The reason why I would change it is because it just seems unprofessional.
