Using makey makey, I created a controller that can play Pac-Man and GeometryDash. The reason for this is that I thought it would be fun to make. Plus, it would be a little challenging to make it work. Another reason is that we finished the Pac-Man faster than we expected so we did another.
During this process, I learned not how to use the makey makey because I've used it before. But I learned how to use different things to make the makey makey react. For example, aluminum foil instead of using graphite like last year. I also learned if you don't have something on the earth it won't work.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project is tied to Knowledge Constructor. My project ties to this because the makey makey wasn't working. So, I looked up how to get it to work.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the makey makey wasn't working at the start of the project. I was able to do it by looking up the reason why it wasn't working. Therefore, I could fix whatever the problem was.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what we used for the conductor. I would change it because aluminum is so lame compared to the stuff we could've used. For example, play dough, other metals, and graphite.
