Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working as a team of 3 on this project.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need cardboard and hot glue and other items to make the cardboard stick together.
What is you plan to create in this project?
We will be creating a robot about 3 feet tall with arms, legs, eyes, etc...…
What unique qualities will your project have to have?
Our project will have a top hat, cool shoes /clothes, and a monocle.
Day 1- On the first day me and my group started our 10 good ideas and our planning questions and that's about all we did.
Day -2 On this day the only thing we did was plan the drawing of the robot and picked out the cardboard we needed for the project.
Day 3- For the third day we committed to finishing the head and that's all we did we wrapped it in duct tape and had a clear thing so the monocle looked real.
Day-4 For this day we committed to starting and finishing the body we wrapped it in duct tape and put part and of a clear box so you can see the heart.
Day-5 I finished one of the arms and started to attach it to the body but then the bell rang , I wrapped the foam in cardboard then duct taped it.
Day-6 We finished the other arms and 5 of the 6 wheels and attach them to our robot, by sticking a toothpick into the side .
Day-7 We added a last minute decision to add a mohawk to the top of the robot and other than that we did the small final touches
Using Cardboard I created Robot because that's what my group and I decided to do. Not to mention that robots are very cool and unique. Not many people have done a robot like we planned on doing.
During this process, I learned that it is very hard to wrap a giant box in duct tape. Cutting the duct tape is the hard part, because the scissors don't cut right through. Then, hot gluing parts onto it. It took almost 3 rolls of duct tape to wrap the whole thing.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I made a project without a plan. and without instructions so we had to just wing it. My project also ties to Empowered Learner because I was the one too chose to put my full energy to finish our robot and didn't let my partners to all of it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the monocle. It wouldn't say together and that's the main part of the robot, because we wanted to make the the robot look like he was going to a fancy restaurant. I was able to do it by using a lot of hot glue to make sure that it stayed together. Plus, I pulled on it to make sure that it didn't come apart so that I didn't waste anymore time on the monocle.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change to let more lighting into the body so that you can see the heart better. The reason why I would change it is because the heart was very cool piece because the heart was a colored Scooby-doo. The main reason that you couldn't see in because the arms where covering the wholes so that you can see in.

My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Product Designer because they design and build things out of items that not everyone uses. Plus, a product designer make 120,804 thousand dollars per year.
