Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I will be working on a team,
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a pokemon card making website, a Adobe editor, and many other printing resources.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will make a list of all of the teachers, go down that list and create a Pokemon card of each.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My cards will have unique features that make it a lot different from the original cards.
I started on my website and started my ideas.
I made my first two cards and started on other ideas,
I finished two teachers and started on a third.
I began on my fourth teacher, finished her and started on a fifth.
I made 3 new cards. We're turning this into a double project so that we can complete all staff members.
Using a photo editor and a Pokemon card making software, I created Pokemon cards of most staff members in our school because I like making art on tech and decided this would be a fun way to showcase my skills. We first found fun, creative templates to put their faces on. We eventually put them into cards and put multiple art elements.
During this process, I learned how to quickly use a picture editor and put images together. At the start, I had never seen or experienced any type of photo editor. By watching my peers, I soon caught onto the concept. In the end, I was able to even help my peers use the software as well. Now, we have multiple people also using these skills in their projects.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because before this project, I had zero clue how to use Adobe Express. Through some help and Google searches, I was able to easily get going and use this website. I used the information and help around me to aid me in my project.
A challenge I overcame on this project was using my time correctly. I was able to do it by figuring out the process and how to use my time correctly. At the start, I was only making 1 to 2 cards per class. This quickly brought up an issue that was how long it would take me to create every staff member. However, I found a way that was useful to me and it made my project run a lot smoother.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the quality of my cards. The reason why I would change it is because they didn't really feel complete. Given more time, I would edit the photos and put their faces onto the characters in a more clean fashion. While they still fit the level of art I was aiming for, I believe I could've done better. This second project will show this.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. This is because I used the tools around me to design an art piece that showed my skills. I wasn't able to make physical copies of them because of the time crunch, but I will be able to on my 8P8. This will be my 4th time designing an art piece in Mr. Renner's class. My project connects to careers in any type of digital art design and photo editor. Whether it's logo design or just art in general, I used the same tools that a professional artist would use.
