On this project I will be working by myself
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need the Co-Space app and a merge cube.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will follow tutorials and use those techniques to make a story.
What unique qualities will your project have?
Mine will have very bright colors that stand out.
Day 1- I was at a cross country meet
Day 2- I did the list of 10 good ideas and the planning questions
Day 3- I was at a cross country meet again
Day 4- I did the story planner and messed around with the mechanics. I started to insert the pieces I needed and developed my story. I did three or four sides.
Day 5- I put more detail into each side and made my final sides. I inserted all of my speech bubbles.
Day 6- I was at a cross country meet.
Day 7- I wrapped up my project and started the video.
Day 8- I did the video and added a voice recording.
Day 9- I checked in with Parker on the video. We both perfected the videos.
Day 10- I attempted to find different techniques on the cube on Google.
Day 11- I messed around with different techniques with the cube. They didn't work.
Day 12- I completely finished my project. Mrs. G let us toy around with creations on Code.Org. I did that for the hour.
Using a MergeCube and CoSpace coding tools, I created a story that had a t-rex and a bear because I had vivid picture of the story I wanted to make. After seeing all of the templates, it made my choice of characters way easier. The templates were very simple but I saw a lot of creativity that I could put into it.
During this process, I learned even with non-moving characters, you can make a diverse story. For speech, I added speech bubbles. I added effects such as fire and water. Because of this, my story had more detail and interesting aspects.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge constructor because I had zero experience with MergeCube. I slowly found different techniques and ways to make a story. I found different elements and items that made a diverse story. By learning these details, I made a very interesting story!
A challenge I overcame on this project was my items not staying with the cube. I was able to do it by clicking the attach buttons and attaching the items to the cube. At first, whenever I would move the cube my items wouldn't travel with the cube. By exploring the app, I found the attach button and my items stuck to the cube!
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the animations my characters did. The reason why I would change it is because with animations, my story would be even more detailed. The mouths would move when the characters talk, and my t-rex and bear would have actual conversations. When the bear a nd t-rex were burning, they would have been moving in a scared way.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming. This is because most of the aspects of coding are in our project and computer programming. CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Upwork. They make a lot of augmented reality representations. You could use these representations to teach and inform people! It makes more diverse lessons and can provide the students with more knowledge.
