Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I will be working with a partner.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need cardboard, the makey makey software, aluminum foil, and multiple electrical items.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will test with multiple designs until I get a good, fun design.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will be interactive and fun for everyone!
Daily Log
Day 1- We explored different things to do with the MakeyMakey. We also made our planning questions and list of ten.
Day 2- We started on our project. We decided to make a flappy bird controller.
Day 3- We finished the design and made the video.
Day 4- I made the reflection and the whole class voted.

Using a makey makey and other minor items, I created a flappy bird controller because I saw a lot of boring designs that didn't include much interaction. Instead, I made a controller to play flappy bird in an interesting way. I used aluminum, a Makey Makey, and cardboard to do so.
During this process, I learned how to use the basics of a Makey Makey. I went through multiple websites to find different designs. In the end, I made a circuit. This circuit was used to play flappy bird.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I learned how to use a software that I'd never heard of before. Originally, I had never used a Makey Makey. In the end, I made a whole flappy bird game. I also learned how to make a circuit.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making a working circuit. I was able to do it by using different conductive materials. At first, I used graphite. In the end, I used aluminum. The aluminum was easier to work with.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how complicated our design was. The reason why I would change it is because Remmington and Aiden's design used more items. It would be more fun to play. Also, it would have been more fun to make. There would hav been more materials and aspecrs in our design.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Junior Electrical Engineering by ROUSH. This is because I worked with multiple electrical aspects such as testing conductivity, connecting separate circuits, and making circuits in general. In that job, you work on a higher scale. However, it does the same job. I used aluminum foil, while on a higher scale they would use wires.
