Using A broken drone, an iPad, a soldering iron and solder, and tools like screwdrivers, I created an almost working drone because we wanted to make something work by learning new skills and doing things we hadn't before.
During this process, I learned how to solder, along with also learning how to take apart one of the not working drones and how to put it back together.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to knowledge constructor because we watched videos to learn how to solder.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not fully being able to make the drone work last time and the old solder holding together. I was able to do it by resoldering and trying to get it working.
Given a chance to do this again I would change all the props. The reason why I would change it is because I feel that we could have got the last propeller working and we could have got the drone in the air.

My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
