Class standards
An Empowered learner is a student that leverages technology to take an active role in demonstrating their competency in their learning goals. For example developing strategies that leverage technology to help them reach their goals. Another example is using technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their demonstration in a variety of ways to reach their goal. This is what an empowered learner is.
A Digital Citizen is someone who recognizes the rights, responsibilities, opportunities and laws of working in an interconnected digital world. An example is cultivating and managing their digital identity and reputation and are aware of the permanence of their actions in the digital world. Another example is Managing their personal data to maintain digital privacy and security and being aware of data-collection technology used to track their navigation online.This is what a Digital Citizen is.
A Knowledge Constructor is a student that critically cureates a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts. An example is planning and employing effective research strategies to locate information for their intellectual or creative pursuits. Another example is building knowledge by actively exploring real world issues and problems and developing answers and solutions.
An Innovative Designer is a student that uses a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new or imaginative solutions. An example is knowing and using a deliberate design process for generating ideas, testing theories or solving authentic problems. This is an innovative designer
A computational thinker is a student that develops and employ’s strategies for understanding and and solving problems that leverage the powers of technological methods to develop and test solutions. For example collecting data and using digital tools to analyze them. Another example is understanding how an automaton works and using algorithmic thinking to develop steps to figure it out. This is a computational thinker
A creative communicator is a student that communicates clearly and expresses themselves creatively for multiple purposes using platforms, tools, styles and formats and digital media to express their goals. For example choosing the appropriate platforms for their desired goals. Another example is publishing or presenting content for their intended audience. This is a creative communicator.
A global collaborator is a student that uses digital tools to enrich their learning by working with others effectively in teams locally or globally. For example finding local or global problems and working with others to find solutions. Another example is contributing to teams and assuming responsibilities to help work towards a common goal. This is a global collaborator
"Design Thinking"
Design thinking is innovation that allows you to design solutions for end users with a single problem in mind. For example Oral B wanted to make their brand of toothbrushes easier to charge so they're easier to travel with. Another example is Airbnb because they were making around 200 dollars a week because their pictures online were not high enough quality so it was deterring customers so to fix this they got a high quality camera and took good photos of what customers wanted to see.
