Day 1

worked on my website

watched some videos/ did some research on 2 stroke engines

started designing the crank case

designed the cylinder

designed the piston head

and I finished the engine entirely just waiting on the 3d print.

Using a computer, Tinkercad and a 3d printer, I created a model engine because I wanted a easier way to explain how a engine works.
During this process, I learned how to create tolerances for 3d printing.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because I had created a entire engine model from scratch.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the engineering of it. I was able to do it by looking at models of engines.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size or the type of engine. The reason why I would change it is because I created a 2 stroke when there's many more types of engines.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering and design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in engineering because I created my own engine model.
