8P5 - Podcast

Using microphones, iPads, computers, a green screen, and iMovie, I created a podcast about current events. I did this because I had never done this before and I thought it would be fun. I also did this because we thought it would be a fun way to portray current, important topics.

During this process, I learned how to generate a logo using free creative common means. I also learned how to collaborate to create a script. I also learned about the potential dangers of social media.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner. My project ties to this because I set a goal and kept track of that goal using my daily log.

A challenge I overcame on this project was creating the script. The reason why this was challenging is because it took a suprising amount of time. I was able to overcome this challenge by working on it after school.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the length of our podcast. The reason why I would change it is because it was only about 2 minutes which seems a little short. One way I could have changed this is by making another topic to talk about.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Podcast Producer.
