Reflection
Using cardboard, hot glue, duct tape, popsicle sticks, plastic, and tin foil, we created a vending machine. We made this, because it was the first idea that popped in our heads. One of our teammates had already made something similar before, so they guided us on how to create this.
During this process, I learned how to shape cardboard into something I envisioned. Since one of our teammates had done this before it help tremendously. I have a feeling that we would've been doomed without this teammate.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set a goal and achieved it. My project also ties to Digital Citizen because I responsibly chose what to share online.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not being able to get the tin foil ball from one pop bottle to the other. I was able to do it by making the hole in the second pop bottle bigger so the ball would fit. Thankfully, it worked well.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the catapult. The reason why I would change it is because it absolutely failed. After it failed, we decided to ditch it, and make it a normal vending machine.
