What is your plan to create in this project?
I am planning on creating the word Tetris. Weston will be making Tetris blocks, and Remi will be making the Tetris theme song.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will have more than 1 robot.
Day 1
Today I decided that I was going to work on iRobot with Remi and Weston. We decided we were going to make a Tetris project. Weston and I are going to make the word Tetris, Remi is going to make the music. We then got started. I made the T and Weston made the code for the E.
Day 2
Today, we had to do other assignments, so we really didn't get anything done on our project.
Day 3
Today, I copied Weston's E code and connected it to my T code. I then duplicated the T code and put it after the E code. Also, Remi was not here today, so we are already behind on the music part.
Day 4
Today, Weston started working on the codes for Tetris blocks while I worked on the R code and Remi got back to working on the music.
Day 5
Today, Weston finished his Tetris blocks and I finished the I and S codes. Unfortunately, I ACCIDENTLY deleted the whole entire project. Luckily Weston had some of the codes on his iPad so I got T,E, and R back. Remi wasn't here AGAIN, so he still needs to work on the music.
Today, I was exactly where I started yesterday I made the I and S code again and finished the whole word. Remi still isn't here, so he still needs to make the music.
Today, Remi was back and he finished the music. We then combined Westin's block code with Remi's music code, and made our video. Our video is above. The audio is a bit silly because a bunch of people were talking.
Using iPads, dry erase markers, iRobot, and marker boards, I created the word Tetris. I did this because this year's halftime show has Tetris in it. I also did this because Tetris is a fun, classic game.
During this process, I learned how to add music to an iRobot's code. I also learned how to manage tasks with a group of multiple people. Another thing I learned is to communicate with my teammates even when one was sick.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set a goal and kept track of that goal throughout the whole project. My project also ties to Innovative Designer because I contacted Weston and Remi to discuss about our project.
A challenge I overcame on this project was having an absent partner for half of this project. I was able to do it by talking to him outside of school about what we did while he was gone. I also overcame the challenge of working extra hard to finish the work I deleted.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the length of the music being played. The reason why I would change it is because it was too short and ended before the E was completed. It also was messed up in some parts.

My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Robotics Engineering.
