I will be working in a team with Parker.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a Makey Makey, alligator clips, a PC, a computer, a game, the Makey Makey website, iMovie, and an iPad.
What is your plan to create in this project?
I am planning on creating play-doh bongos, and a play-doh gamepad.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will have my voice and Parker's voice.
Daily Log
Day 1: Today, I watched videos on how the Makey Makey works.
Day 2: Today, my partner was not here, so I tested out a Makey Makey and found out more about them.
Day 3: Today, my partner was back, so we got lots of work done. We ended up making our play-doh bongos, and making a gamepad that plays "Big Tower Tiny Square".
Day 4: Today, we worked on our websites, and did our reflections, finishing our project.
Final Results
Using Makey Makey, alligator clips, a PC, a computer, a game, the Makey Makey website, iMovie, and an iPad, I created Bongos. I also created a gamepad to play Big Tower Tiny Square. It created these things because I like drums, and video games.
During this process, I learned that with a few buttons and wires, you can make some really cool things. This includes other instruments like a piano. You can also play other video games, like Dance Dance Revolution.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set a goal and achieved it. My project also ties to Knowledge Constructor because I found and used information online.
A challenge I overcame on this project was having no experience with Makey Makey. I took a few minutes just for me to find out that i had to hold the other end of the alligator clip I was able to do it by watching useful videos and the Makey Makey instruction manual..
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the play-doh controls. The reason why I would change it is because it was to boring, and it was what almost everybody else was doing. I feel we should have done something more unique, such as maybe a banana.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Makey Makey President / Chief Operating Officer.
