8P8-XCarve

Using a piece of wood, the Easil website, and the x-carve, I created a piece of wood with my football number and my name on it. I created this because I didn't have any Christmas gift ideas for Mom and I thought this would be a good idea. I also created this because I had no idea how to do this and I thought it would be a challenge. 

During this process, I learned how to carve out the wood piece. I also learned how the x-carve machine worked. Another thing I learned was how to ask for help from people I don't usually talk to so they can assist me in this project. I learned how to make the board feel more full and not leave a bunch of blank space

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor. It ties to this because I had no idea what I was doing and I had to ask around a lot and get help from other people.

A challenge I overcame on this project was knowing what to do and how to do it. I was able to do it by asking around other people who have done the project to get feedback. Another challenge I had was knowing what to do. I has multiple different projects ready before I finally settled on this one

Given a chance to do this again, I would change how long it took me to start carving. The reason why I would change it is because it took forever to land on a design. Even at the current moment I am typing this it still has not been carved.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Product design and machine operating.
