Planning Questions:
I am working with Abbie.
We will need a robot dash, iPod, and 2 Ipads. One for videotaping and the other for controlling the dash.
Our plan to create this project is to take the robot throughout the school and videotape it while it goes through the school.
A unique quality our project has is that the robot goes through the whole school instead of just one hall or a maze.

Using the dash robot Abbie and I made it so our robot would go around the whole school. We wanted to do this because we didn't want to do something basic like just having it drive down one hallway. We made it go from the 8th grade hall to the 6th and 7th and back to the 8th.
During this process I learned how to control the different setting on the dash. I learned how to drive it and how to change the different colors on it. I also learned that the dash has different speed settings that you can adjust on the dash app.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to computational tinker because we had to think about where the robot was going and how to control it. We needed to know how far the robot needs to go and the areas it can fit in. We had many problems with getting the robot to go certain places but it worked.
A challenge I overcame was getting the videos to upload and save. I was able to overcome this problem by shortening the videos. The videos would not save if they were super long so we had to shorten them so they could save and upload.
Given a chance to do this again I would change how we did the video. We recorded a long video that didn't save so we had to re-do it. I would go back and do the whole video again but on the Ipads with shorter videos that would upload easier.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in programming robots and video design. It connects because we programmed our robot and took videos of it.
