Class Standards and Design Thinking
Standards:
In this class, we will be using the Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students (MITECS) also known as the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards. For each standard, you will write a 3 to 5 sentence paragraph. Please use this link to create your paragraphs.
A person who can learn how to use something new. They can self-reflect to know if they are doing good or not. They also seek feedback on their work.
A digital Citizen is someone who acts in a manner that is safe for them and others online. They are safe in keeping their identity safe online to prevent real harm being done to them. They also act in a courteous manner to others and take into consideration the consequences from their decisions.
They plan the way they will obtain knowledge to do their projects. They explore the possible ways to solve various problems. They can also determine a source to use in their project that will provide useful information.
An Innovative Designer is a person who will persevere in making a project work. They will also figure out whether or not the risk is worth the reward. They will also test their design to make sure it works prior to declaring it to be completed.
A Computational Thinker can create a solution to existing problems. Or they can create a problem and a solution. They can also understand automation and how to use it to solve their problems.
A Creative Communicator is a person who can communicate difficult things in a way that can be easily understood. Sometimes using graphs, pictures, etc… They can also tailor their language and use of words to fit the target demographic.
A global collaborator is a person who can collaborate with just about anyone and can still create useful products in an efficient manner. This person can collaborate with anyone from any background. This person can find issues and can collaborate with others to solve those problems.
