Reflection
Using cardboard, a makey makey, and scratch we created an electric guitar because my partner and I agreed on making that for the highest grade possible on this project.
During this process, I learned that makey makeys are hard to create in three days.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to the Innovative Designer pillar in our class standards because, I designed a program, made a cardboard guitar model, wrote the code to make the software work, and produced the music.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the guitar work and function at a high level. To overcome this I added more diversity and complexity to the notes that are able to be played with the guitar.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way the guitar looks. The reason why I would change it is because it is not the most appealing to the eye and we could probably get more votes if it looked better.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in software developing.
