Reflection
Using a Button press, a button plate, a button film, a button back, a computer, a paper printer, and a iPad, I created Trump 2024 buttons because I wanted to make a button that expresses my thoughts and actions. I wanted to make buttons for me and my family so we could show who we support. I wanted to make a button about my favorite president that is alive around my time as my favorite president is Abraham Lincoln, who died in 1865.
During this process, I learned how to make a button. How to cut a relatively perfect circle using the button presses circle cutter. Finally I learned how to use a button press.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I brainstormed ideas. Also I used technology to copy and paste the images that would be printed.
A challenge I overcame on this project was getting the buttons to be pressed correctly by the button press. I was able to do it by practicing cutting perfect circles so that the button press could press it into good buttons. I also learnt to put a good amount of strength into the lever making it press better and harder.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how horribly made the buttons were. The reason why I would change it is because most of the buttons I made were of poor quality. Also I would change it because many of the buttons I made were before I learned how to cut the perfect circle.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. As I built buttons and I solved on my own how to make those perfect buttons.
My project connects to careers in button making because I made and assembled buttons. I had cut out relatively good or perfect circles to make the buttons. Finally, I picked out the design of the buttons and printed the design on paper.
