Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
Scissors, Marker, Whiteboard, Tin Foil, and a computer.
What is your plan to create in this project?
Basically I wanted to create a Canoe type design.
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will look unique and its design isn't made to hold fifty or more pennies, it would hold a ton of pennies if I was any good at shaping tin foil.
Day 1
Was not at school.
Day 2
Made my boat plans, list of ten, and planning questions. Boat sunk.
Day 3
Made a new boat, tested it, made videos. started editing the videos.
Day 4
I finished editing my video. I added the video to my website. I added and started my Reflection.
Day 5
I finished the Reflection.
Day 6
I checked and edited my Reflection and then published this page.
Day two image
This is an image of my boat plans.

Using tin foil, a computer, scissors, whiteboard, and a marker, I created a tin foil Canoe because I like how Canoes are designed for the waters. I like how Canoes are made and the materials they are made out of. Lastly, I like the shape, size, and how the Canoes float.
During this process, I learned more about buoyancy, so basically how ships float. I learned the best design for a ship to float with a lot of weight. Lastly, I learned how to distribute weight onto a platform or ship like thing that's in the water.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I brainstormed ideas on how to make a boat and how to make it float. I designed the boat as according and built it as well as I could. I tested and rebuilt the same boat a couple times to get the best results.
A challenge I overcame on this project was building the boat. I was able to do it by remaking the boat multiple times. I also tried new and different ways to build the boat. Finally, I sculpted and shaped the boat to be the size and shape I wanted.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the design of my boat. The reason why I would change it is because using tin foil to make a Canoe is really difficult to do. It is easier to make a tin foil square boat than a tin foil Canoe. Lastly, It is easy to break the tin foil Canoe on accident if not being careful.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. As I engineered the boat to be specifically how I wanted it to be. I designed it as how it is in the video and in the image, so that it coincided with my personal plans.
My project connects to careers in Boat Construction because I created a boat. I designed the boat so it would float and function correctly. Finally, I tested and retested the boat and made adjustments to spots that I thought would need such adjustments.
