Video
Using Tinker CAD and a iPad, I created a statue based on the Atlas statue because I wanted to show what I feel about this world and about Greek mythology.
During this process, I learned how to sculpt in Tinker CAD and the power of patience.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I thought about help communicating the idea of world peace.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the human figure. I was able to do it by using images of the Atlas statue as reference.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I made the statue. The reason why I would change it is because the body is too blocky.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in sculpting because I had to sculpt the entire body with building blocks and I started with a frame like sculpting does.
