Using Scratch, I created a game of Ping Pong because I had to make it quick but more importantly I wanted to see what I can make on Scratch.
During this process, I learned how to code on Scratch.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational Thinker because I can use Scratch code tools to make a game.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out what to make using Scratch. I was able to do it by realizing my last project was unsaved and so I hurriedly made Ping Pong.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the game I made into a chase or run type game. The reason why I would change it is because I prefer games with more freedom.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in video game programming because I developed the code for Ping Pong.
