REFLECTION
Using Cospaces, I created a VR zoo because I thought it would be fun with all the little stuff. In my VR world there is tigers with top hats dancing, elephants also dancing, there is also giraffes with cowboy hats. Next to the giraffes, there is a barn on fire because there is a dinosaur attacking it. Beside the barn is food, were you can either feed the animals or yourself. There is people visiting all the animals, and a bunch of dinosaurs running all around, and one guy is getting chased by a T-rex. The background of my VR world is green grass with trees.
During this process, I learned how to create my own VR world. I opened the app Cospaces and started placing down items. It as a little hard to measure and create some things. Even when I tried to copy and paste one of my cages, it didn't work. So I then just took my time and created each cage carefully. I then finished the cages and added animals into them with trees and grass. I added some people watching the animals. After I got the hang of adding things, I added more stuff and then finally finished my VR world from scratch.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I can understand the fundamental concepts of technology. I also got to choose what I got to make and make my own creative ideas through my imagination without taking others ideas. I also stuck to my work and didn't give up on what I was creating.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to figure out how to make the zoo not boring. I didn't just want cages with animals in them and trees all over the place. So I changed up my zoo a little bit to something more..fun. I was able to do it by adding some chaos like make the animals dance with hats on them. I also made dinosaurs roam the place dancing, running, and even chasing the people. I added a dinosaur destroying the barn and making it catch one fire. Lastly, I placed down some unicorns by the entry.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change to do something a little more different. The reason why I would change it is because I feel that mines a little boring and small. I also would change it because I would want to make the person viewing my VR world have something to do in it and not just looking at animals dancing with a barn on fire.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering and Design CTE program at Hastings High School because I learned how to use the technology given to me to make a VR world. I used the tools correctly and responsibly and learned many new skills because of doing this assignment.
My project connects to careers in learning how to deal with VR worlds. For example, on job is the VR World Designers for Meta Horizon Worlds. This connects to what I am dealing with and learning right now because they do a lot of practice with 3d modeling and VR work just like I do in my classroom. They learn new skills everyday and use there tool correctly just like me.
