REFLECTION
Using a micro bit, I created a bunch of different codes including my name and a conductivity tester. This was a fun experience, I would definitely choose to do it again.During this process, through my project on the Micro Conductivity tester, I learned how to measure the electrical conductivity of different materials. I discovered that some materials, like metals, conduct electricity very well, while others, like rubber, do not conduct at all. This experiment taught me the importance of electrical properties in everyday items and how they can impact our technology. Overall, I gained hands-on experience with coding and electronics, making the learning process both fun and educational!
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. I am an empowered learner by using a Micro because it allows me to explore and create in a hands-on way. With the Micro, I can design my own projects, like the conductivity tester, which helps me understand complex concepts in a simple, interactive manner. This experience encourages me to think critically and problem-solve as I troubleshoot and improve my designs. Additionally, the coding skills I develop while programming the Micro Give me the confidence to tackle new challenges and express my creativity. Overall, the Microempowers me to take control of my learning and turn my ideas into reality!
A challenge I overcame on this project was having to know that the micro bit we were using is a micro bit 1, and some of the instructions did not say whether it was a 1 or 2. I was able to do it by doing some research on the project to figure out if it was a 1 or 2.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change to always check the instructions and read them all before starting a project. The reason why I would change it is because I didn’t read all of the instructions and I didn’t know it needed a micro bit 2, I started on the project and then realized it wasn’t going to work because I didn’t have a micro bit 2.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers Mainframe Systems Programmer Storage and Data Replication because they are looking for programers that have experience and to help with problem solving and learning with skills to do with the digital device.
