Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
by myself
What materials will you need for your project?
wood, tinker CAD, laser cutter
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to create a sign to put outside my bedroom
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will have a unique saying that I came up with
Using the laser cutter, wood, and tinker CAD, I created a sign for outside my bedroom. I made things because I wanted one of those signs with a saying on it for outside my room. I chose the writing on it because in my house my siblings don't knock and that gets annoying, so the sign says to knock.
During this process, I learned how to use the laser cutter and how small of letters it can print. When I was making my design I was worried that the letters in the "please" on my sign would be too small and not be legible when printed. But I learned that that wasn't the case and you can see them just fine.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen. It ties to this because I put my project on a public website and didn't break any copyright laws.
A challenge I overcame on this project was having limited time to work on it. I had limited time because my last project took longer than the designated amount of time. I was able to do it by working on it partially outside of class.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change some little mistakes there were in the design. The T in the is father from the other letters than it should be and the last ! is further apart than the other two. The reason why I would change it is because it would look better if everything was properly spaced.
