7P3 - Commercial

Using the iPads for recording and editing through iMovie, I created an advertisement style commercial for our cardboard creations. I did this because it is the style of commercial I an most familiar with. I also did this because it fit the criteria for the project.

During this process I learned a lot. I learned how to edit using iMovie, and how to work better with a group. I also learned how to film things that will work well when edited together.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen. My project relates to this because I edited and uploaded a video onto a public website an didn't violate copyright laws.

A challenge I overcame on this project was my lack of knowledge of editing. I was able to do it by researching how to edit using iMovie. Another thing that helped me overcome this challenge is help from my teammates.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the quality of the acting. The reason why I would change it is because the bad acting\talking caused the final result to look worse. We could of fixed this by having a more final script an sticking to it fully instead of changing little things.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in advertisement and filmmaking.
