7P8 - Makey Makey

Using the makey makey, playdough, and scratch, I created 2 projects. I created a playdough piano, and a game controller for a game that I created. I did this because they sounded fun and were simple enough that I had enough time to make them.

During this process, I learned more about how circuits work. I learned that through a lot of mistakes that I made while trying things out with the Makey Makey. I would often try to use the things I made without a full circuit and they would not work,

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen. It ties to this because I recorded the whole thing on a public website without violating any copyright laws..

A challenge I overcame on this project was my partner not being at school for 3 of the 5 days we did this project.. I was able to do it by Asking others to help me film. I also just did most of the project on my own without help.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of time I spent doing each thing. I ended up spending two much time trying to make my list of 25 and editing the video's. The reason why I would change it is because if I spent more time actually doing the Makey Makey I feel like I would have gotten more and better projects done.

My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in computer programmer and electrical engineering. .
