8P4 - Broadcast

For this project I will be working in a partnership with Tommy. For this project we will need access to an Ipad as well as Imovie. We plan to create a guide of the in's and out's of the middle school. Our project will have a unique take on the middle school including some opinions which you wouldn't normally see.

Using iMovie my partner and I created a school tour, we did this to help the new students find their way around as easily as possible. With this, we will be including the main areas of the building. Though a lot of this tour will be focusing on the layout, we will also describe a multitude of different things that are overall just good to know.

During this process, I learned that in order to have adequate audio while using the IPad a microphone is necessary. There was also a learning curve with steadily walking in order to be sure that while filming there is smooth footage. Along with that Tommy and I learned that making a script is a very key detail in the proper execution of the broadcast.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because through the video I was able to put in much more emotion and be able to make the viewer feel as though they were personally being spoken to. By doing so I feel that it will be much easier for viewers to stay engaged.

A challenge I overcame during this project was figuring out in which order I should do things. By planning out with a script and overview of the broadcast I was able to make that process go much faster than it would've if I had not planned out what was going to be said and done. We also had to try and figure out who would be more suitable for each part of the tour.

Given the chance to do this again, I would change the amount of detail and overall tips offered in the video. The reason why I would change it is because I feel that the amount of information, though overall helpful, could have supplied much more assistance to newcomers rather than just showing the building and ways to get through it.
