7P7 - CS First

Using CS First I created 5 different projects all including coding, as well as storytelling. I did this because I wanted to challenge not only my creative ability, but the sophistication in my coding. It was important for me that I not only forced myself into situations that I needed to learn how to find my way through but the simply work on my time management skills.

During this process, I learned that when coding you must be sure to click on the same figure for the previous code each time. I also learned that it is much easier to do the projects in stages. If you do the design first, then do the coding to go along with it, the coding process will be much easier to understand.

The seven standards of the class are empowered learner digital citizen, knowledge constructor, innovative designer, computational thinker, creative communicator, and global collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer, as was global collaborator because I worked with a group of people to try and figure out the best design possible. I was and innovative designer because I had to come up with new ideas when others did not work well with the design.

A challenge I overcame during the process of this five part project was simply not saving my work. Though this sounds like a strange difficulty to have to overcome you always have to remember to sign in after each individual assignment or else it won’t get saved, I lost quite a bit of work due to that.

If I were to be given the chance of doing this project again I would most definitely put in more detail to the design and then add more advanced coding to it. The reason that I would update my project in this sense is because though much effort was put into the project it was more bland, and simple than what it could’ve been.

This project ties to careers in graphic design due to the use of different designs, and different aspects of drawing attention to it.
