Laura Aguilar García

Biography

Laura Aguilar Garcia has 11+ years of experience teaching Spanish. She is passionate about second language acquisition and helping others achieve their highest potential. Born in Spain, Laura moved to the US in 2012, where she began her teaching career as a graduate teaching assistant of Spanish at West Virginia University. After earning her first master's degree in 2014, she secured a lecturer position at the University of Virginia, where she taught Spanish to undergraduate students, and served as an academic advisor and the Director of the Spanish Program at Casa Bolivar Dormitory until 2023. She has three master's degrees: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages & Spanish from West Virginia University, Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Menendez Pelayo International University (Spain) in collaboration with Instituto Cervantes, and a Master's in Business Administration from Western Governors University. In her spare time, Laura enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling.
