Rhododendron is a genus of woody plants with over 1,000 species, some species of this plant are native to North America but most of the cultivated species (like the ones we have in the butterfly courtyard) are not native.

Rhododendrons are trees that have curved simple leaves with flowers in shoots of four coming out of the top of each branch.
Flowers:
Rhododendrons have flowers that are in groups of four, that are often pink or white.
