Blue lupine leaves have a palm-like shape and there are either 7 or 9 leaves on each branch

Blue lupine blooms in the spring. The flowers have a bluish-purple hue and are shaped like a pea. Each flower is on a long stem. Butterflies, in particular the Karner blue, enjoy the nectar of this plants flowers
Butterflies:
