• The Viceroy caterpillars prefer to live on willow species, but they will also live on some  fruit tree species and poplar species

• The Viceroy caterpillar is green to brown with one big white stripe in the middle

• The viceroy chrysalis has two mock horns on it to help scare away predators, it is brown in color besides for one large white blotch towards the top. 

• The viceroy butterfly is known for its mimicry of the Monarch butterfly. This means that the two species intentional are similar in appearance. The way you can tell the difference is viceroys have a solid dark line down their wings and the monarch does not
