Purple Coneflower is a perennial plant found in the butterfly courtyard. This plant is native to the Pine Bush (however close relatives may not be).
Identification:
Purple coneflower can be identified by its single large light purple flower per plant. This plant is about three feet tall and does not have very distinctive leaves.
Flower:
They have pinkish-purple flowers with a large orange center.
Butterflies:
Many butterflies like coneflowers. The center of the flower is open which makes it easier for the butterflies to drink from.
