Cross Country Run

Congratulations to this year's cross country run team. The majority of our team was able to attend the Colonial Classic Meet this past Tuesday and we are so proud of each and every member of the team. Four of our runners finished in the top 10 of their heat and came home with a ribbon. Way to go, Stingrays!

A Special Presentation

On Wednesday, September 21, CES had the good fortune of being able to host Matthew Bendoritz and listen to stories of his cancer journey. At the young age of 9 years old, Matthew was diagnosed with the same type of cancer that Terry Fox had. He was an inspiration to the students and he showed them that even when we experience difficulties, with a positive mindset we can overcome them.

Terry Fox Walk

Friday morning, students and staff participated in the school Terry Fox Walk. We held a random draw for Terry Fox T-shirts. Congratulations to our lucky winners Hailey Higgins, Kinsley Howett, Rose McKinney, and Mason Lacroix.

A special 'Thank You' to the FCSS for providing a snack and juice to all of the students after they finished their walk and to Const. Leggio for helping to direct students along the route.

Thank you to all of the parents who were able to take time out of their busy day to join us.

Truth & Reconciliation Week

Next week is Truth and Reconciliation Week. Your child will be learning about the lasting effects of residential schools and how we can have an active role in reconciliation. Your child will be engaging in learning activities throughout the week and as a school, we will be creating a "Rock Garden of Hope." We are asking each student to bring in a rock that fits in the palm of their hand. We will be painting the rocks and going on a community walk to place them in the Main Street Park. Families who would like to join us for the walk, please be at the school at 1:00 pm on September 29th.

Thank you for supporting our community in moving forward in reconciliation.

These forms are due September 30. You can find your Verification Form in your PowerSchool Parent Portal.
