Powersports Technology

In Powersports technology students will become knowledgeable  in two and four stroke engine configurations and theory.  Students will also learn about wheels, tires, brakes, drive and clutch systems, electrical basics, systems, troubleshooting, service writing and parts management, maintenance, and engine reguilding for many sport vehicles such as motorcycles and side by sides.  The goal of this program is to prepare students for an entry-level position in the powersports industry.  Possible positions include service technician, service writer, parts and accessories, and salesperson. 

Curriculum

Powersports Technology is a one year program that rising 10th-12th grade students can apply for.  Upon completion of this course students will have the opportunity to earn certifications in Yamaha and Polaris as well as OSHA-10. 

1st Semester:  Powersports 1 and 2

2nd Semester:  Powresports 3 and 4
