In Machine Tool Technology, students will have multiple opportunities for hands on learning using precision measuring instruments, layout tools, and machine operations. This course will increase students skills in working from blueprints, sketches, and CAD designs while utilizing state of the art equipment such as drill presses, mills, lathes, and CNC machines to produce product. There is a high demand for qualified machinists in this type of industry. Students will have a great opportunity to increase their machining and employability skills by applying for this program.
Machine Tool is a 2 year program that rising 10th-12th grade students can apply for. The content stresses the importance of understanding of all aspects of the modern machining industry including CAD/CAM/CNC. This also includes planning, management, technical and production skills, health/safety, and enviornmental issues. Upon completion of this course students will be certified in OSHA-10 and NIMS.
