In EMT, students will gain a solid foundation for further study in pre-hospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. The Bonds Career Center EMT Course is a dynamic program designed to introduce students to the world of emergency medical services (EMS). This hands-on course teaches essential skills like patient assessment, CPR, airway management, and trauma care, preparing students to respond confidently in real-life emergencies.

EMT is a one year program that is offered to rising 12th graders only. Seniors must be at least 17 years old, but may take the National Registry exam prior to their 18th birthday. After the students 18th birthday and successful completion of both the practicum and the National Registry theory exam for EMT, the student will be nationally registered and state certified in South Carolina.
