On May 2, 2023, fast-rising R&B artist Brent Faiyaz announced 2023 tour dates. Brent's tour, F* the World, It’s a Wasteland, features 30 stops, from the UK/Euro and the U.S.. It starts in Jul and ends in Nov. After he released the dates, the tour sold out in three days.
Along with the tour announcement, Brent has also announced his new partnership and record deal with UnitedMasters. With the tour selling out, UnitedMasters CEO and founder Steve Stoute validated his popularity, by saying, “Brent Faiyaz is one of the most prolific independent artists today and we are extremely excited to embark on this new partnership with him. It’s been inspiring to watch his journey as an artist over the years and with this partnership, we look to further amplify his creative vision and support his entrepreneurial ambitions.”
This tour is following his third album, Wasteland, which was released last summer 2022, but the tour will also feature songs from his sophomore album F* the World, which came out in 2020, and possibly some songs from his first album, Sonder Son. Although the set list is not released, concerts are expected to last for a few hours and have times when he sings, talks, and performs the same skits that break up his album.
Brent has been carrying R&B with all his solo albums, as well, as with his late band Sonder's albums. Brent's style is strong lyrics full of meaning overlaid on a catchy soul-moving beat that makes people want to move. When listening to his music, people could interpret it as sad, crying music or party music. That is how versatile his music is and that is what makes him so liked and well-known. Each album shares a story and is filled with solo songs, songs with features of other famous artists, and thematic audio skits that help the storytelling.
Brents's popularity has exponential growth with each album and feature that is released. After his tour was announced, hundreds of fans started making TikToks and social media posts sharing their experience of getting tickets/not getting tickets due to the fact that they sold out. This social media craze is just another conformation of his fame, and proof that the F* the World, It’s a Wasteland Tour, will be one to remember always.
