Anne Heche, born on May 25, 1969, was an influential American actress, who always strived to be thoughtful towards others. She went on to be well-known for acting, directing, and screenwriting. Heche loved writing as much as singing and acting. She has always been a triple threat and fans knew it. What they did not know was the fatality that was to follow.
Heche had an intriguing childhood, moving eleven times before her family settled down in New Jersey when she was about twelve years old. Not long afterward, her family’s happiness was cut short with her father, death a year later. Her brother also died that very year, just three months after her father. Us magazine notes that after people in her family passed, that she had moved to New Jersey. Regarding the move she said, “I do believe that it was the universe…That something extraordinary needed to happen to get me out of what would certainly be my death.” It was definitely difficult for Heche to move on from such a traumatic experience. However, she was glad that she was able to deal with it because her mother was there to comfort her and given her hope.
While she was still in high school, Heche got an impeccable audition for a soap opera: As The World Turns. Heche landed the role, but her mother had told her that she had to graduate before she could fully accept it. After four years of the soap opera she had acted in many other films and, in 2004, she was recognized for a Tony Award nomination for her role in Twentieth Century. According to Hollywood Life, “Anne earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the Lifetime TV movie Gracie’s Choice. She also starred in the ABC series Men in Trees, Hung, and The Brave.” Throughout her life, she had won many awards and has been in many wonderful movies that should have given her more credit. To much of a surprise, in 1997, Anne had a three-year-long romance with Ellen Degeneres, but they split later on, in the year of 2000.
Unfortunately, on Sun. Apr. 11, 2022, Heche passed away after being in a severe car accident. She had many injuries sustained from the incident and was taken immediately to West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles. According to The New York Times, “Ms. Heche, who was alone in the car, sustained burns and a severe anoxic brain injury, caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain.” She will be missed, and with her family going through with her decision, her organs will be donated to help kids with cancer.
Anne Heche, irregardless of the troubles and deaths that she dealt with, still continued on to be a sweet and caring person. She also became a person that enjoyed people, on and off camera, and it showed. Heche will always be remembered as a wonderful woman who gave hope to people she came into contact with and was very much admired for her acting career.
