On 19 May 2025, UTM Mandarin Club successfully hosted an exciting student activity themed “Aetherlight”. The theme symbolizes the fusion of brightness and subtlety, much like the Mid-Autumn moon gradually emerging from obscurity to illuminate our view. The Mid-Autumn Festival originated from ancient autumn harvest moon-worship rituals, later becoming a nationwide celebration during the Tang Dynasty and reaching peak popularity in the Song Dynasty. Through this activity, participants gained deeper insights into traditional Mid-Autumn customs such as moon gazing, enjoying mooncakes, and solving lantern riddles, while also exploring the cultural values and spiritual meanings behind the festival.
This event was not only a meaningful cultural experience but also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections and friendships. In a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, participants appreciated the richness of Chinese culture and deepened their mutual understanding through interaction, further enhancing team spirit. The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedication of the organizing committee and the enthusiastic participation of all learners. We sincerely thank everyone for their support and look forward to continuing our journey of cultural inheritance and shared growth within the UTM Mandarin Club.
