During the rest of your program you will author content into your portfolio. The next course Author your Education Portfolio will help you do that.
Remember, the purpose of this Teacher Education Portfolio site is to document your growth as a teacher and that growth is captured through the use of artifacts. Think of them as "mile markers" of your development as an educator. Artifacts are meant to represent all of those moments (both good and bad) where you moved forward as a teacher, and not merely showcasing your good grades.
Start looking for “mile markers” of your development as an educator. It could be an assignment, an experience from your field placement (something you document in your journal), a reading, almost anything! When you experience a mile marker head to the Author your Education Portfolio course to put it into your Teacher Education Portfolio!
Looking for ideas for mile markers of development as a teacher? Listen to the Road To Better Teaching podcast for folks sharing moments of their development as a teacher. One episode from a former student in the program is shared below.
Just know that this portfolio is yours and it documents your growth as an educator.
