Adapt Portfolio Standards Pages

Your Teacher Education Portfolio needs to be adapted to meet the needs of your specific program. Each Teacher Education Portfolio is preloaded with standards for all teacher candidates in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Mississippi.

Here is a list of the standards and which programs need them in their portfolios:

  • InTASC Standards - needed for ALL Teacher Candidates

  • Elementary Standards - needed for Elementary Education Teacher Candidates

  • Special Education Standards - needed for Special Education, Elementary Education Teacher Candidates, and Early Childhood Education Teacher Candidates

  • Social Studies Standards - needed for Secondary Education Education - Social Studies Teacher Candidates

  • English Standards - needed for Secondary Education - English Teacher Candidates

  • Mathematics Standards - needed for Secondary Education - Mathematics Teacher Candidates

  • Science Standards - needed for Secondary Education - Science Teacher Candidates

  • Health Education Standards - needed for Health and Physical Education Teacher Candidates

  • Physical Education Standards - needed for Health and Physical Education Teacher Candidates

  • Early Childhood Standards - needed for Early Childhood Education Teacher Candidates

To hide the standards you do not need in your portfolio, execute the following steps.

  1. Open your Chrome browser.

  2. Log in to Google Drive using your @go.olemiss.edu email address.

  3. Open up your Education Portfolio.

  4. Identify what kind of teacher you are preparing to become (Elementary, Special Education, Secondary Social Studies, Secondary English, Secondary Science, or Secondary Mathematics, Health & Physical Education, or Early Childhood).

  5. In the sidebar on the right side of your screen select "PAGES".

  6. Click on the triangle next to "Standards", so all of the Standards pages can be viewed.

  7. Select a Standards page that is NOT needed for your program (see the list above).

  8. Click the three vertical dots that appear next to the page name.

  9. Click "Hide from navigation".

  10. Repeat for all other sets of Standards that are NOT needed for your program.

  11. Select the Standards page.

  12. On the Standards page remove links to the Standards that are NOT needed for your program by hovering over the unneeded section and clicking the trashcan symbol.

  13. Repeat for all other sets of Standards that are NOT needed for your program.

You have just adapted your Teacher Education Portfolio for your program!
