Launch Checklist

The purpose of your education portfolio is to capture moments of professional growth generated from your program.

The purpose of this course is to help you author a moment of professional growth into your education portfolio.

The purpose of this task in the course is to make sure you have successfully launched your portfolio, before attempting to put anything into your education portfolio.

One of the prerequisites to the "Author an Artfiact" course is to successfully launch your portfolio site by completing the Launch your Teacher Education Portfolio course or the Launch your Educational Leadership Portfolio course.

The checklist below is a means to check the set up of your portfolio before you author an artifact into your portfolio.

Portfolio Site Task

  1. Open your Chrome browser.

  2. Log in to Google Drive using your @go.olemiss.edu email address.

  3. Check your Google Drive for an “Education Portfolio” folder that is shared so that “ Anyone with the Link” can “View”. The purpose of this folder is to store and share elements (files, pictures, videos, etc.) that are featured in your portfolio site. If not click here.

  4. Check that your personal copy of the portfolio Google Site for your program is in your Google Drive? If not click here for the Teacher Education template. If not click here for the Education Leadership template.

  5. Have you created and refined a pocket - sized philosophy statement/professional vision statement? If not click here for Teacher Education students. If not click here for the Education Leadership Students

  6. Have you published your portfolio? If not, click here.

  7. For teacher candidates in the Department of Teacher Education - Have you adapted your portfolio sites standards pages for your program? If not (or to check) click here.

If you have completed all the steps identified in this checklist, you are ready to author an artifact into your portfolio.
