Children's Day
A: Good afternoon!Everyone! Hey!___________ ,guess what? Tomorrow will be the start of a long weekend! That means four days of no school! YA!明天開始放連假嘍！
B:But why are we getting a long weekend?
A: We get four days off because one of the things we're celebrating is Children's Day.
放連假的原因之一就是兒童節！
B: Children's Day takes place on April 4. So what is Children's Day?
A: It's a day to celebrate children, of course!
B: So how did it start?
A: Children's Day isn't just celebrated in Taiwan. A lot of countries all around the world celebrate Children's Day. 很多國家都有兒童節。
B: A long time ago, some very important people got together and had a meeting in Switzerland. They agreed that children should be protected and always kept safe.他們都同意小孩需要被保護。
A:After that meeting, many countries started celebrating Children's Day.
會議之後很多國家開始慶祝兒童節
B: There are a lot of children who don't have enough food and water, or a place to call home. Some don't even have schools to go to.
有很多小孩很可憐沒有家沒東西吃也沒辦法去上學.
A: That's why there are a lot of people and organizations that are trying to protect kids all around the world.
B:It's great that there are so many people who are trying to protect children.
And it's so great that we all get to take a long holiday!
A:沒錯!Then families can spend a lot of time together. 放連假就可以跟家人多一點相聚的時間囉!
B:Good! I hope you're doing something fun on your holiday!
