As our first unit of inquiry (How We Express Ourselves) came to a close, we took a field trip to Kidzania. The culmination activity further strengthened our understanding of different roles and responsibilities in our society. We tried many jobs supporting people such as police officers, pilots, bakers, tv broadcasters and many more.
We also started our new unit this month about personal health and well-being! We learned about different food groups and what their portions should be on our plates. For example, the biggest portion should be vegetables, and the smallest should be fruits.
Then, there are groups of food that should be eaten just sometimes. So they're called "sometimes food". These foods are high in fat and sugar, so if we eat them often, our bodies won't be healthy. To see the fat and oil, we did a scientific experiment by rubbing the grease onto paper and seeing which food had the most oil. We learned that out of the food we experimented on (martabak, cheese, gem squash, pastel, bakwan sayur), "gorengan" or fried fritters has the most oil! So everyone, please take care of your health and if you like them, only eat them sometimes!
