Dear Global Jaya Community,
Once again the Global Jaya community shows its strength for a plethora of events. Our motto should be “There is always something going on at Global”. This month was no exception.
IDU Exhibition:
On November 6th, MYP years 7 to 10 demonstrated their knowledge, understanding and reflection of learning from their Interdisciplinary Unit and Week Without Walls. Each year level combined with two subjects and focused part of their WWW experience on their IDU. It was so amazing to hear all that our students learned from each other and this experience during the exhibition.
GJS History Day:
On November 27th the Individuals and Societies Department hosted Global History Day: Revolution, Reaction and Reform in History. Year 7 and 8 students explored and researched turning points in history. They showcased their ATL skills to collaborate, communicate, research and use their thinking skills to make and discuss their booths with the community. This is an annual GJS treat that we all look forward to each year.
MYP eAssessment and ePortfolio meeting:
On December 5th, we had another great turnout form the parent community at GJS to learn more about the MYP eAssessments and ePortfolios at GJS. If you were unable to attend you can catch the presentation here. Global Jaya is proud to be the leader in MYP assessments in Indonesia. We believe that this guided IB assessment will lead to improved teaching, learning, and DP results.
Hari Indonesia:
On December 15th, the PPKN and Bahasa Indonesia departments collaborated for the annual Hari Indonesia. This event celebrated the summative exhibitions of student work for Years 7-9 and the Cerdas Cermat (Bowl Competition). It was a pleasure to hear GJS students speaking confidently about their collaborative learning experiences.
January will start with another exciting event - Service/CAS assembly on the 14th of January. Students will hear from past SA/CAS experiences and projects as well as hear about opportunities for the future.
We wish you a peaceful and restorative winter break!
