International Mother Tongue Day
On the 21st of February, Kindergarten celebrated International Mother Tongue Day, a day dedicated to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity. The students engaged in a variety of activities to explore the richness of languages around the world. They learned about how people in various countries greet each other. A highlight of the day was watching a music video featuring greetings in multiple languages, which the students enthusiastically sang along to in the classroom.
In addition to the cultural exploration, the students also engaged in a creative project. They made colourful hats decorated with flags from different countries, also with the word 'hello' in their respective languages. This activity not only allowed the students to express their creativity but also reinforced the importance of embracing and celebrating linguistic diversity.
Personal Goal Fireworks
At the beginning of Term 3, which coincided with the start of the New Year 2024, the Kindergarten students embarked on a journey of self-reflection. They took time to reflect on their individual learning journeys, identifying their strengths and areas for growth. This activity allowed them to learn more about themselves and how they can grow.
In a fun and creative activity, just like the colourful fireworks we see on New Year's Eve, the Kindergarten students made their own special fireworks. They used different materials to make these fireworks. These goal fireworks were a reminder of what they wanted to accomplish and helped them stay excited and motivated to learn and grow.
Write Daily Attendance
In Term 3, the Kindergarten students are taking their Letter Recognition learning to the next level. They are now practising writing their names on the attendance sheet as part of their morning routine. This daily practice not only reinforces their letter recognition but also fosters a sense of responsibility and independence as they take ownership of their attendance record.
