We warmly welcome you! Our Grade 2 students entered their new classroom with enthusiasm, ready to embrace the challenges and joys of a new school year. The first day provided an opportunity for them to become familiar with our classroom routines and expectations.
The first week of school was filled with activities connected to our first unit of inquiry, which explores how people apply cultural expectations when interacting with different groups in order to promote inclusivity.
We also celebrated the 80th Indonesian Independence Day with various traditional games such as the spoon marble race, Domikado, and ‘putting a pencil in a bottle.’ During class time, we colored batik-patterned bookmarks and sang national songs together, including Indonesia Raya and Hari Merdeka.
As the weeks progress, students will begin to settle into their new roles and routines. By the end of the third week, they will be well on their way to fully embracing their second-grade experience.
