Dear Global Jaya Parents,
Welcome to a new year of learning and growth at Global Jaya School! The school is buzzing with excitement, and it's wonderful to see our students, both new and returning, embracing the new school year with such positive energy and open minds.
As parents and educators, we share the same number one priority: ensuring our children are happy, safe, and feel secure at school. I want to talk about how we achieve this together, using a simple idea we call "safeguarding."
At its heart, safeguarding is simply our commitment to you that we will do everything we can to protect your child from harm and to boost their well-being. It’s about creating a positive and caring environment where every student can shine.
What Does Harm Mean?
Harm can mean many things. It includes physical or emotional distress, as well as situations where a child's educational or health needs aren't being met. Essentially, it's anything that gets in the way of a child's safety and happiness. The effects of this can be serious, leading to anxiety, low self-esteem, or a loss of trust. That's why we take our role in preventing it so seriously.
You Are Our Most Important Partner
We can't create a truly safe environment without you. You are our most important partner in this mission. Following our school’s safety guidelines is the most powerful way you can help. Here are a few simple ways we can work together:
Photo Time? Let's Keep it Personal: During school shows or events, please only take pictures of your own child. This small step is a huge help in protecting every child's privacy and online safety.
Your ID is Your Key: When you visit, please have your lanyard ready to show our security team. This also needs to happen with nannies or drivers. This helps us know exactly who is on campus at all times. Also, if someone new will be picking up your child, just give us a heads-up!
Stay in Touch: Keeping us in the loop about your child's attendance or any medical needs helps us take the best possible care of them and avoids any confusion.
See Something? Say Something (to us): This is the most important one. If your child tells you about an issue they have at school with another student, or if you have any concern about another child's well-being, please come and talk to us first. It's crucial not to try and handle the situation yourself. We have a process to deal with these things sensitively and effectively.
Together, we make our school a community where every child feels safe, protected, and excited to learn. My door is always open if you have any questions or concerns. Let’s continue to work as a team for our kids.
Warmly,
Primary Dean of Students
