Diploma Programme Update: August 2021
Dear Parents,
Greetings.
Here are a few updates regarding the programme at the school.
Year 12: May 2022 examination session will be a regular session, and the teachers are teaching and preparing the students according to the revised adaptations and guidance.
The Diploma counseling team is helping and preparing the candidates for upcoming admission sessions, and the students have completed their second mandatory interaction with their EE supervisor in August 2021. Ibu Celi runs an ASA for EE every Tuesday to help the students who require additional guidance and support.
These are the upcoming deadlines for Year 12 students in September and October 2021.

Sep 17 - Bio SL B: Practice IA Submission
Sep 17 - History IA Draft
Sep 22 - DP Theatre: Solo Performance Video
Sep 27 - ESS Final IA Proposal
Sep 30 - DP Theatre: Solo Theatre Portfolio (draft)
Sep 30 - Visual Arts - EA Final Draft CS HL A-F, SL A-E
Year 11: The DP office has started the subjects/levels change for the students. Here is the timeline and process.
Timeline:
No request before August 24 and after November 8, 2021
Subject change: 24 August - 6 October 2021 (ends at 4 PM WIB)
Level change: 24 August - 8 November 2021(ends at 4 PM WIB )
Process:
Fill the doc after making a copy of it after a brief discussion with the current subject teacher and counselor.
Fill a new form for the second subject, if you are requesting
Share the doc with the current subject teacher, counselor, Ibu Widy, and Pak Ram.
Request your parents to send an email to Ibu Widy and cc Pak Ram about their consent.
Pak Ram will share the doc with the new subject teacher after reading the comments of your counselor and current subject teacher.
Pak Ram will inform the decision to the student and others through email.
The student will move to a new class only after receiving the email.

On Thursday 26th August, GJS was proud to host the University of Cambridge information session for Indonesia.
We were pleased to be joined by university counsellors, students and their families from schools across Indonesia.
The session was led by Ms. Jo Fretwell, Regional Manager, and Mr Roshan Walkerley, Deputy Head of Student Recruitment.
Mr Walkerley covered topics such as what kind of student profile the University of Cambridge is looking to recruit, potential scholarship pathways, the application process and requirements as well as tips and guidance for the student application interview.
